After a long silence, I started to work on a few new things. This piece, I’m pretty sure doesn’t need an introduction. The one and only Clint Eastwood. Major Konig figure from DID part 1

Hello everyone!

I just bought my new Konig figure from DID Corporation and I couldn’t resist so I wrote a kind of small review here.

Let’s just start with the headsculpt! Wow and again Wow! This is not an ordinary work of a cheap sculptor. This is a serious sculpt from a very talented someone! I couldn’t find out who the sculptor is but he or she is amazing. It looks exactly like Ed Harris as Major Konig in the movie. The skin texture, the eyes, you can even see the very small bluish veins on his forehead for crying out loud! The hair is a bit darker than it should be but to be honest it’s so nicely sculpted and painted it does not matter.

The officer uniform is superb. The insignias are crazy and if you put everything together and make a nicely captured pic of it with a good background, it looks like Ed Harris from the movie exactly. You don’t even have to modify anything. So I think DID made a helluva good job here.

The officer visor cap on the actual product is much better size wise than it is on the promotional pictures. Very good shape and the insignias again spot on.

The only thing I should mention maybe is the Boots. With this uniform for an officer, riding boots would have been appropriate. The standard DID boots don’t look bad either but with riding trousers they look a bit too short for my taste. DID must have their reason to use these so I can live with that. :)

I haven’t had the time to post anything here recently so I suppose everyone has left this site. :))Well hopefully this piece I was working on ( an Arnold headsculpt 1/6 scale from the movie Terminator 2 which I’d like to finish soon but there’s a long way to go) will attract some attention.:)

I know that hot toys has released it recently and their headsculpt is amazing but it’s something I wanted to do for a long time and I think it looks pretty good already. I hope you enjoy it.

Dear all,

A good friend of mine who was a good photographer and a very talented blues drummer has died very suddenly, I learnt it today. It is a really sad day for me. He was very inspirational with his enthusiasm for art and music. He founded a photography club a few years ago. They had several exhibitions and venues and played in two blues bands. He was full of life and it seemed he’s unstoppable.

He had an interesting face and hated when someone tried to make a picture of him but I managed it a few years ago and I made a painting of the photography as well. He liked it. That is why I show it to you now for his memory and my appreciation and admiration for his inspiring zest for life.

Hello again!
Me and a chain mail maker friend decided to make a ¼ scale crusader figure as authentic as possible. You can see some pictures about the making process too.
I used Liam Neeson as a reference for the head. I’ve made the clothes weathered to be more realistic. The sword and the helmet is super sculpey.
The leather parts are from an old leather bag. I’ve steamed and bent the shield for the right shape.
It was quite a big project but the final result is really good I believe. Enjoy the pictures.

Here is Captain James T. Kirk 1/4 scale bust. Super Sculpey. No paintwork, just fresh from the oven. Unfortunately I just saw a few small cracks on the head but I hope you'll like it anyway.

Of course there is no Captain Kirk without Mr Spock so here is this piece. Same 1/4 bust. I've enjoyed to make this so much. Leonard Nimoy has a really interesting head, and I'm a big fan of the original Star Trek series.

My name is Peter Szilagyi, welcome here!
I was wondering what the hell I can do with my spare time, well here I am making a blog! Good, I have never done that before so if I seem a bit unexperienced that's because I am.
This blog is about my artistic ways so you will find sculptures and paintings here and even photos. Mostly sculptures though, because they are my real love!
I’ve discovered new materials you can use in sculpting nowadays and was keen to try them out. No, I wasn’t in a coma for 20 years just somehow never tried sculpting before. But about a year ago I saw a few really exceptional artist on the internet making real gems and they influenced me to discover new areas in art. So I’ve bought a few box of super sculpey and gave it a try.
There is space for everyone here so don’t hesitate to tell your opinion about my stuff please. I’m open to questions too.
